Aug 2006 to Jan 2015 – Land Manager - Koch Exploration Company, LLC– Denver, CO

 

Key Land representative on acquisitions and divestitures, managing due diligence and leasing teams while responsible for the design of lease administration systems and company procedures. Prepared division orders, cured title, created revenue and billing breakdowns, coordinated operated and non-operated properties located in Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Montana, Colorado, Texas and Louisiana, and off shore non-operated properties in the Gulf of Mexico and California.

Accomplishments include:

§ Participated in acquisitions valued over $316M, involved in PSA negotiations, primary signature as Attorney-in-Fact on BLM, state and county conveyance documents, was responsible for the project due diligence and the migration of the related paperwork through the many jurisdictions, with well partners, gas marketing, revenue, division of interests and bringing the records in-house

§ Participated in the divestiture of four multi-million dollar prospects in a 16 day period for $59M and additional sales for over $160M. Organized the Land Package, data room, coordinated due diligence matters and closing documents. A quick and focused reaction and preparation allowed the company to sell at advantageous times

§ Managed the acquisition of 350,000 acres in Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico and nominations of over 1,250,000 acres. Strategic assets from these holdings were developed or sold resulting in annual profits to the company

§ Prepared Sales Authority for Expenditures and coordinated with lease brokers and accounting.  Secured assignments on all leases from Lease Brokers, using newly Automated Federal Lease Assignments and system generated Exhibit A’s for County Assignments

§ Testified as an Expert Witness before the Utah and New Mexico Oil Conservation Commissions during three increased density hearings and successfully received permission to drill three additional wells, resulting in additional value to the company of over $5M

§ Coordinated Land, Accounting and Field Activities, while establishing an Authority for Expenditure approval and tracking system for operated and non-operated wells, 

§ Redesign land mapping software and designed interface with mainframe records system, saving the company over $75K annually

§ Made major improvements and much needed upgrades of Land Records and the Computer System including: Automating the Division Order, Transfer Orders, Rental and Obligation Calendars processes, and designed main frame records import and export tools
